Year in Review: 2017

My only “big” New Year’s Resolution for last year was to post a pic every day on Instagram, and write a blog post once a week. I stopped blogging consistently back in March, but surprisingly, I was able to keep up with Instagram. I hoped feeling the need to post a picture every day would help motivate me to go out and experience and do more things, and it did! It helped that I took two bucket list trips this year, which provided me with a TON of new photos to post.

I did a story on Instagram (follow me here!) with some of my 2017 highlights, and I decided to post it here! Enjoy!

#Maddie2017Challenge: Week 7

So to further be tinkering with the content of what I post here on Mondays, I think I’m going to just take a single photo and expand on it, instead of just trying to sum up my week altogether…

Aaron and I don’t really go to the movies very often — I’m more of a binge-13-seasons-of-a-TV-show-as-quickly-as-possible kinda girl — but my friends have talked about Split, and I’ve seen people rave about it on social media, so we went to see it.

I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about it since we saw it!

So I went home for the weekend.

And besides seeing Aaron, I wanted to come back to Albuquerque immediately. I just wanted to kidnap Aaron and bring him back with me.

I don’t usually mind San Antonio, but after living elsewhere for some time, I went back and… I just… I HATE San Antonio. Like, I know everything, I know everyone. It’s boring. It’s familiar. It was dumb.

I love Albuquerque. I’ve been here 4 weeks and there’s still so much stuff for me to explore. I’m still familiarizing myself with different areas of the town, restaurants, bars, parks, outdoors stuff in the area. I’ve never really lived outside of San Antonio, and I like it. I’m looking forward to continuing my travel nurse journey and exploring different cities throughout the year and season. It’s so strange, travelling is such a go-with-the-flow type of job/career, and yet, I already have planned where I want to go for my next few assignments… For the next year, at least!

New camera adventures!

So I got myself a Sony RX100 to take more pictures with. I figured if I was going to be traveling to all these new and exciting and beautiful places, I needed a camera other than my phone that would do it justice. I took it around town before really putting it to use on my boyfriend and I’s vacation to Mexico (I’ll post about that later!)Read More »
